Lois Marie Patterson Waddell, age 75 of Bremen, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Born on June 26, 1948, in Haralson County, she was the daughter of the late R.J. Patterson and the late Eva Lois Norton Patterson. In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Starling Waddell, and her brother, Billy Ray Patterson.

Before the love of her life, Starling, passed away, Marie enjoyed travelling with him and they especially enjoyed spending time together in Florida. Being outdoors was one of her favorite pastimes, and she loved watching the birds in her yard.  She also spent many hours watching TV; but her true passion was being with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Marie Waddell of Bremen; son and daughter-in-law, James Mark and Pennie Lynn Waddell of Tallapoosa; sister and brother-in-law, Mariesa Patterson Hopper and Steve; and brother and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Sharon Patterson and Shirley Patterson. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Justin Dwayne Reeves and Alena Ashley Waddell, and several other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Lois Marie Waddell will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 4:00 PM from District Line Methodist Church Cemetery with Don Grimsley speaking. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
