Linda D. Kirkland, age 78 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully Monday, November 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Born on December 27, 1946, in Hiram, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Albert Sorrells and the late Mae Belle Sheffield Morris.  In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Richard Kirkland; her son, Benjamin Kirkland; and siblings, Dianne Ferrell, Billy Sorrells, and Danny Sorrells.

Linda was a hardworking, fun loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She worked for several years at First National Bank in Buchanan and then spent the rest of her career in Atlanta working  in the executive administration of Cascade Chemical Company, formerly the Selig Chemical Company.  At home, Linda enjoyed baking and was known for her birthday cakes and beautiful wedding cakes.  She also crocheted, sewed and enjoyed painting ceramics.  Linda was devastated when she lost her four legged beloved companion, Bandit. Her family and friends will dearly miss her smile and warm hugs.

Linda's survivors include her children: Sheila & Keith Perry of Buchanan and Brad & Mika Kirkland of Franklin, Kentucky; her precious grandchildren: Ashley Post (Johnathan), Kayla Acker (Patrick Cook), Tara Durocher (Devin), Britany Kirkland, Alex Kirkland, Blake Kirkland, and Bryan Kirkland; and her great-grandchildren: Hunter Allred, Natalie Allred, Cohen Acker, Weston Acker, Greyson Acker, Chaston Perry, Benson Durocher, Mason Durocher, Braylinn King, Brylee Kirkland, Gunner Winslett, Alexis Kirkland, and Brookleigh Kirkland.  Also surviving are the fifth generation, her great great-grandchildren: Dawson Allred, Della Mae Phelps, Ada Phelps, and Karter King, as well as other extended family members and friends.

The funeral service for Linda Kirkland will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Reverend Rodney Wilburn officiating.  She will be laid to rest next to her mother at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bremen with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Brad Kirkland, Keith Perry, Hunter Allred, Chaston Perry, Blake Kirkland, and Bryan Kirkland.  Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Kirkland, Benson Durocher, Mason Durocher, Greyson Acker, Cohen Acker and Weston Acker.

The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from Noon until the funeral hour.
