Mrs. Linda Gail Gentry Evans, age 62, of Tallapoosa passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017. Mrs. Evans was born in Bremen, Georgia, on February 23, 1955. She was the daughter of the late John Bennett Gentry and the late Annie Ruth Malone Gentry. Mrs. Evans was a beloved paraprofessional at Buchanan Elementary School. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bradley Jason Evans; and one brother, Ken Gentry.
Survivors include her husband, Warner "Pee Wee" Evans of Tallapoosa; one son and daughter-in-law, Christian and Michelle Evans of Bremen; one sister, Tammy Gentry of Bremen; two "special sisters", Missy Duke of Bremen and Rachel Thompson of Buchanan; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Tammy Gentry of Bowdon; five grandchildren, Dakota Evans, Landon Hack, Noah Hack, Kadence Hack and Zach Owens; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. from Baptist Tabernacle Church with Rev. Buddy Gentry, Rev. Joey Meeks and Rev. Paul Southern officiating. The music will be rendered by Josh Worthy and the Church Choir. Interment will follow in Baptist Tabernacle Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Ronnie Gentry, Bo White, Joel Evans, Chris Thompson, Blake Poole, Jeff Worthy, Jon Pope, Derick Biggers and Troy Thompson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Dakota Evans, Zack Owens, Josh Hack, Landon Hack and Noah Hack.
The family will receive friends at Baptist Tabernacle Church Saturday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
