Buchanan

With grateful hearts for a life faithfully lived, we celebrate Linda Dennis, who entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the age of 84. Born in Roopville, Georgia, on December 28, 1941, she was the second daughter of the late Howard and Martha Wilburn. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ray Griffin; her father-in-law Glenn Dennis and her mother-in-law Beulah Dennis.

A 1960 graduate of Buchanan High School, Linda lived her life guided by faith, grace, and an unwavering trust in God. Her greatest joy was being a wife, stay-at-home mother and grandmother. Linda had a true servant's heart and faithfully dedicated countless hours to her church. She was a devoted Christian member of Bethel Baptist Church and later Tallapoosa East Baptist Church. Throughout the years, she served in many capacities, including church secretary, van driver, cook, WMU member, choir member, nursery worker, and many other ministries wherever there was a need. She never sought recognition for her service, but instead she found joy in quietly serving the Lord and caring for others. Her unwavering commitment, gentle spirit, and willingness to help made a lasting impact on her church family and everyone who knew her.

Outside of her church ministries, Linda found joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved reading, crocheting beautiful gifts for family and friends, working word search puzzles, and assembling jigsaw puzzles. She truly treasured time spent with her family. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in knowing that Linda is now in the presence of her Savior hearing the words she faithfully lived for: "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Left to cherish her memories are her beloved husband to whom she married March 5, 1961, Lenn Dennis of Buchanan; her loving children: Deandra & Daryl Wulf of Locust Grove, Joel & Bridgette Dennis of Buchanan, and Glenn Dennis of Bremen; her precious grandchildren: Brett & Casey Dennis, Savannah & Cameron Porter, Peyton & Dalton Kuhn, Addie Dennis, Logan Wulf, and Samuel Dennis; and her sweet great-grandchildren: Sawyer Dennis, Kyleigh Porter, Thatcher Dennis, Kynlee Porter, Josie Dennis, Walker Kuhn, Kate Porter, and Weston Kuhn. Also surviving are her devoted siblings: JerryAnn Griffin of McDonough, Rev. Dr. Allen & Judy Wilburn of Bremen, Debra Thompson of Buchanan, and Rev. Dr. Rodney & Sherry Wilburn of Tallapoosa; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

A celebration of Linda's life will be conducted on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Tallapoosa East Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Mason Bush and Rev. Dr. Allen Wilburn officiating. Following the service, Linda will be laid to rest in the Tallapoosa East Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 2nd, at the church from 3:00 until the funeral hour.

Linda's legacy of faith, love and service will continue to bless all who knew her, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts. She lived her life in full conviction of Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is honored to serve the Dennis family.
