Linda Ann Foster Crossley, age 72 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Born in Arrington, England, on September 8, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Senior Master Sergeant Cleadies Juan "John" Foster and the late Mildred "Millie" Christine Beam Foster. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by an infant sister, Donna Sue, and brothers Jeff Foster and Mike Foster.
A 1971 Bremen High School graduate, Linda continued her education at West Georgia College. For more than 40 years, she was employed with the Haralson County School System where she worked in administration with several superintendents before retiring in 2015. Linda had a passion for traveling and especially enjoyed visiting Europe, Utah and Arizona. Linda was a member of Steadman Baptist Church and had a servant's heart, often crocheting prayer shawls and helping other in need. Her creative and artistic side took many forms; she was a skilled painter, decorator, seamstress, and calligrapher. Never idle, she also enjoyed cooking for her family and her favorite role was being "Nana" to her grandchildren. In her quiet moments, Linda enjoyed reading and watching the deer and turkey come feed in her yard. Linda's beautiful spirit and warm personality will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memories are her beloved husband Raymond Edward Crossley of Buchanan, GA; her children: Phillip Anthony Payton of Ft. Branch, IN, Rebecca Payton Harris (Michael) of Buchanan, GA, Andrew Crossley (Kristina) of Stone Mountain, GA, and John Crossley of Buchanan, GA; and her precious grandchildren Lexie Payton, Skylar Payton, Caleb Payton, Evan Harris, Emily Harris, Anna Harris, and Matthew Harris. Also surviving are her devoted Aunt Gloria Beam Fesler of Sun City West, AZ and several nephews and cousins.
In honoring Linda's wishes, she will be cremated. The family will host a celebration of her life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations in Linda's memory be sent to the ALS Foundation at https://als.org or by contacting the Bremen Parks and Recreation Department at 770-537-4222 and donating to the Annual ALS 5K Race.
