Mrs. Lillian Blackmon Hammock Jiles, age 86, 701 Elder Circle, Bremen passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Mrs. Jiles was born in Haralson County on March 24, 1922. She was the daughter of the late George Dewey Blackmon and the late Cora Elizabeth Sanders Blackmon. Mrs. Jiles was a retired seamstress. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John William Hammock; three sisters, Lucille Baker, Vela Mae Cantrell and Mae Dean Guffy; six brothers, C.W. "Bud" Blackmon, Ladelle Blackmon, Travis Blackmon, Marlon Blackmon, Max Blackmon and Ralph Blackmon. Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Glenda Coker of Doraville, Gayle and Jerry Davis of Anderson, SC and Bonnie Wingard of Bremen; one son, Gary Hammock of Panama City, FL; two sisters, Inez Arrington of Cullman, AL and Peggy Teal of Temple; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel. Music will be rendered by Jill Punkosdy. Interment will follow in the Brice Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Chad Davis, Chase Davis, Corey Davis, Michael Punkosdy, Greg Teal and Darrell Wingard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
