Lewis Clayton Edgar, age 80 of Buchanan, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Born on May 26, 1945, he was the son of the late Charles Marion Edgar and the late Lennie Pope Edgar. In addition to his parents , Lewis is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Edgar.

Lewis proudly served this country in the United States Air Force.  Playing golf, watching NASCAR, and cheering on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were his favorite pastimes.  Lewis dearly loved his family, enjoyed spending time with them, and grilling out. He also loved his dogs, especially his current constant companion, Athena, and he grieved deeply when he lost his dog, Argos. His humble and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Annelle Spivey Edgar of Buchanan; daughters and sons-in-law, Valerie Edgar West and Glen of El Paso, TX, and Wendy Edgar Holt and Mark of Myrtle Beach, SC; a son, Lewis Scott Edgar of Nashville, TN; grandsons, Charles Holt and Sid West; and several other relatives and friends.

In keeping with the family's wishes he will be cremated.

Cremation services are entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
