Mrs. Lera Jeanette "Lanette" Witcher Daniels, age 73 of Tallapoosa, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, in a local hospital.  Lanette was born on November 28, 1948, in Haralson County to parents Lera Beatrice Williams Witcher and Oscar Lee Witcher.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Beatrice Hendricks; two granddaughters, Marissa Daniels and Harlee Daniels; and a brother Doyle Lee Witcher.

Along with her family, Lanette owned and operated Oscars Donut Shop and Bakery in Tallapoosa.   Besides baking, Lanette dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed watching soap operas and attending church when she could.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Joe Daniels of Tallapoosa; three daughters, Traci Lanette Diaz of Leesburg, FL; Tonia Jean Whalen of Leesburg, FL; and Sonja Joella Marie Daniels of Tallapoosa; three sons and daughters-in-law; Richard Paul Lee and Jennifer Daniels of Leesburg, FL; Jerry Jeff and Anna Daniels of Odessa, TX and Michael Heath Daniels of Jonesville, VA; a sister and brother-in-law, Frances Bonita and Harvey Beasley of Wildwood, FL; and a sister-in-law, Won Shil Witcher.  Also surviving are her eleven precious grandchildren: Ashley Hendricks, Andrew Whalen, James Michael Whalen, Chealby Boyer, Adam Daniels, Aubrey Daniels, Aaron Daniels, Logan Daniels, Brian Lee Daniels, Anthony Daniels, and Kenly Daniels; her six wonderful great-grandchildren: Elijah Hendricks, Noah Shealy, Gibson Whalen, Isabella Lybran, Greyson Whalen, and Maddie Daniels; as well as a number of nieces and nephews and "adopted" children and grandchildren.

Funeral services for Lanette Daniels will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2021, at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Jerry Denney officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.  Interment will follow in the McClain Family Cemetery in Tallapoosa.
