Leila Ada Harris Belmore, age 77 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, August 15, 2025.  Born in Harlingen, Texas, on January 3, 1948, she was one of twelve children born to Franklin William Harris, Sr. and Vera Dykes Harris.  In addition to her parents, Ada is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Belmore; two sisters, Ella Mae Rowell and Elaine Corbin, and  five brothers, Frank William Harris, Jr. James Grady Harris, George Harris, Robert Harris, and Tommy Harris..

Ada grew up in the beautiful countryside of Haralson County, where she loved the Lord with all her heart.  She was retired from the Chevron Corporation where she worked as a project manager.  Ada was also an avid collector of coins and stamps.  With her roots firmly planted in family, she truly relished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memories are her children: Angela Belmore and fiance', Chad Brown,of Villa Rica and Chuck & Nikki Belmore of Buchanan; her grandchildren: Andrew Cash, Gracie Belmore, and Gauge Belmore; her sister, Ann Spain of Rockmart; and her brothers, Charles Lowell Harris, Joe Harris, and Roy Lee Harris.  Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from Noon until 1:30 PM at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel in Buchanan.

Graveside services for Ada Harris Belmore will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Old Ebenezer Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa, with Pastor Sam Leggett officiating.  Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Chuck Belmore, Gauge Belmore, Andrew Cash, Brandon Cash, T.J. Leggett, and Jeff Gossage.
