Larry "Rabbit" Mason, age 73 of Buchanan, passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at his home.  Born on September 16, 1951, he was the son of the late Luther Eugene Mason and the late Rosie Lee Burns Mason.  In addition to his parents, Rabbit was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Rowell Mason, who passed away on November 24, 2024.

Growing up in Buchanan, Rabbit had a heart for service.  For many years, he worked as a fireman, beginning as a volunteer and working his way up to Assistant Fire Chief.  Due to his health, Rabbit had to leave firefighting, but he found much joy in collecting and trading cars, as well as other items of interest.  He was a "wheeler-dealer" and loved talking to everyone.  A member of End Time Warriors Church, Rabbit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memories are his son and daughter-in-law, Jay & Robin Mason of Carrollton, a number of grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.   Also surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Lisa & Jim Cox of Buchanan, his brother and sister-in-law, Danny & Vickie Mason of Buchanan, as well as many extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Rabbit Mason will be conducted on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 7:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Brother Danny Mason officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  Following the service, he will be cremated.
