Mrs. Kimberly Jo Hutcheson Scoggins of Buchanan passed away after a brief illness on Sunday, May 29, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on July 20, 1962, in Carrollton, GA,  to parents Elaine Reid Hutcheson and the late Larry Hutcheson. Kim was a 1980 graduate of Haralson County High School. and a 1984  graduate of Jacksonville State University with a BSN in Nursing.. She later continued her education and graduated December 2003 from Jacksonville State University with a Masters in Nursing and was retired from Nursing.

Kim was an avid animal lover.  She took care of her pets, family pets, and stray animals of all kinds.  A lover of nature, Kim enjoyed flower gardening and relaxing at the lake or by the pool. She also loved tailgating with her family and watching Georgia football, as well as watching Braves baseball.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Bryan K. Scoggins of Buchanan, to whom she was married on June 1, 1985; her only child, Matthew Chase Scoggins of Armuchee; her mother Elaine Hutcheson of Buchanan; and her sister, Pam Hutcheson of Buchanan.  Also surviving are her fur babies: Landon, Taylor, and Felix; grand fur baby, Max, and niece fur baby, Izzy.

A celebration of Kim's life will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at 3:00 PM from the Buchanan United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Rooks and Patty Hutcheson officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 PM until the service hour.  Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Jones, Blake Merritt, Matt Fowler, Austin Nix, and Ken Reece.

In accordance with Kim's wishes, she will be cremated.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to PAWS, 99 North Ave. NE, Rome, GA 30161.
