Mr. Kenneth B Summerville, age 79, of Buchanan passed away Monday, August 29, 2011. Mr. Summerville was born in Buchanan on August 2, 1932. He was the son of the late Emmett B Summerville and the late Ephe Williams Summerville. Mr. Summerville was a veteran of the United States Army and was the owner of Summerville Tile Company. He was a member of Buchanan Masonic Lodge #78 F.&A.M. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Elisa Lynn Summerville; and one grandchild, Joshua Ryan Williamson.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Yvonne Shepard Summerville of Buchanan; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Steve Williamson of Crawford, AL; one son, Christopher B Summerville of Buchanan; three grandchildren and spouses, Mandy and Micah Johnson, Hannah and Stewart Arrington and Charity Nicole Williamson; one great grandchild, Remington William Johnson; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from First Baptist Church of Buchanan with Rev. Steve Williamson and Rev. Buddy Gentry officiating. Music will be rendered by Emily Pharris and Rev. Steve Williamson. Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Bill Jones, Larry Gray, Chad Johnson, Rache Bell, Richard Jones, Harold Philpot, Wendall Furr and Lovie McClure. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Milton Price, Walter Price, Jack Head, Jack Awalt, Horace McClure and Troy Bush.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
