Katherine Ann Lord, a wonderful mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. Born on June 21, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Kathleen Wrobleski. In addition to her parents, Katherine is preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Carol & Bob Salinger, Alex & Vangie Wrobleski, Robert & Shirley Wrobleski, and Richard Wrobleski.
Katherine’s career spanned more than two decades with the Internal Revenue Service, where she was known for her commitment and perseverance. Before dedicating herself to public service, she served proudly in the United States Air Force. Beyond her professional achievements, Katherine was a woman of remarkable warmth and artistic talent. She had a creative and artistic flair that found beautiful expression in her love for painting, decorating, and flower arranging. Katherine found joy in the simple pleasures, including a fondness for old movies. Her heart warmly embraced the company of cats which she loved dearly.
Katherine is lovingly remembered by her long-time companion Fred Mason; her daughter, Cynthia Ayo, and her husband Johnny of Mt. Zion, and her precious granddaughter, Karina Katherine Ayo. Their lives were enriched by her nurturing spirit and the strength of her devotion. Katherine’s legacy also lives on through several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, Katherine Lord will be cremated.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is honored to serve the cremation needs of the Ayo family.
