IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia Ann
(Mcclung) Johnson
April 21, 1940 – January 25, 2024
Mrs. Julia Ann McClung Johnson, age 83 of the Mt. View Community, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 25, 2024. Born in Haralson County on April 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late S.F. McClung and the late Willie Mae Davis McClung. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Johnson, three brothers and five sisters.
A long time member of the Mt. View Community, Ann adored her community, her church and her family. She worked for over 25 years at Sewell Clothing Company, but she spent most of her time taking care of her family. At home she enjoyed gardening and canning, but she also enjoyed time away with her family camping and visiting the beach. Her leisure time also included working for hours completing word find puzzles. Ann loved the Lord and worked tirelessly for Him in her community church, Mt. Zion East Baptist Church. Being a daughter of a deacon and then wife of a deacon, she believed in faithfully attending church with her family and serving where needed. She was a Sunday School teacher at Mt.Zion East for many years. Her community, her church and her family will miss her dearly, but they know that she is enjoying a great reunion with her family and her Lord in heaven.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and son-in-law, Anita Johnson and Annette & Lee Dobson; and her precious grandchildren: Charity & Jamie Prater, Autumn Schlosser & John DeShane, Lee & Nicole Dobson, Chase Johnson, Serena Johnson and Lindsey & Dylan Lewis. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren: Hailey Dobson, Evan Prater, Ty Dobson, Ethan Dobson, Tay Irving, and Samar Irving, and extended family and friends.
Graveside services for Julia Ann Johnson will be conducted on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM from the Mt. Zion East Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenny Teal officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 10:30 AM until the service hour. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jamie Prater, Evan Prater, Lee Dobson, Jr, Chris Bacon, Christopher Brannon, and Terry Heuer. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion East Baptist Church Cemetery.
