Mr. Joseph C. Patterson , age 76, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Mr. Patterson was born in Buncombe on Friday, May 20, 1938. He was the son of the late Elzie Patterson and the late Faye Verner (Price) Patterson. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Tony Patterson.

Survivors include his wife Bobbie Nell Patterson of Buchanan; One son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Gail Patterson of Roopville; Three daughters and three sons-in-law, Tammy and Glenn Watts of Villa Rica, Tina and Tommy Strickland of Bowdon, and Tracy and Jimmy McMillan of Bremen; Three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Mack and Faye Patterson of Tallapoosa, Ricky and Crissy Patterson of Temple and Stanley Patterson of Heflin, Alabama; Two sisters and one brother-in-law, Patricia and Bud Shelton of Alabama and Nancy Turner of Buncombe; Sixteen Grandchildren, Tyler Woods of Temple, Tiphani Robinson of Mount Zion, Tara Watts of Douglasville, Tatum Harris of Temple, Tayla Parlier of Dallas, Alexis Scott of Carrollton, Tamara Watts of Villa Rica, Trinity Strickland of Bowdon, Trevor Strickland of Bowdon, Travis Strickland of Bowdon, Aubrey McMillan of Bremen, Amber McMillan of Bremen, Tanner Strickland of Bowdon, Jerome Arrington of Franklin, Alesha Hernandez of Carrollton, and Connie Strickland of Bowdon; Ten great-grandchildren, Gunner Parlier of Dallas, Drake Woods of Temple, Elana-Joe Robinson of Mount Zion, Raeleigh Parlier of Dallas, Amley Robinson of Mount Zion, Arston Robinson of Mount Zion, Eli Padget of Carrollton and Adam Mallard of Carrollton, Dylan Arrington and Dalton Arrington both of Franklin and a number of other relatives.

The family will receive friends at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel in Buchanan on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services will be conducted from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel in Buchanan on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 12:00 Noon with Reverend Hank Darnell, Tommy Strickland, and Tiphani Robinson Officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Buncombe with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Tyler Woods, Trevor Strickland, Travis Strickland, James Wright, Jerome Arrington, Jacob Parlier, Nick Robinson, and Landon Harris.
