Mr. Joseph David Butler Sr., age 73, of 94 Butler Lane, Bremen, Georgia, died Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Higgins General Hospital. Mr. Butler was born on September 16, 1936, in Calhoun County, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Albert Butler and Bertha Haney Butler; two brothers, Mr. Gerald Butler and Mr. Oliver Butler; two sisters Ms. Katherine Humphries and Clementine Faulkner.

Survivors include his wife Marlene Shead Butler of Bremen; five daughters, Beverly Burford of Ohatchee AL, Kim Wagner of Ottumwa, IA, Melody Wright of Murfreesboro, TN, Kathy Butler of Dalton and Pam Butler of Dalton, GA; four sons, Mike Weir of Montgomery, AL, Tony Weir of Anniston, AL, Steve Weir of Coldwater, AL, and David Butler Jr. of Martinsville, IN; one sister, Belle Thornton; one brother, Doc Butler, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. from Buchanan City Cemetery with Rev. Howard Brooks officiating. Pallbearers serving will be Randall Engle, Ken Oaks, Brad Shead, Brian Shead, Thomas Windham, and Jay Shead.

Family will Receive friends Tuesday, October 27, 2009 6-8 PM at Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel.
