Mr. Joseph Price Browning, age 95, of Temple (Paulding County) passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014.  Mr. Browning was born in Brooksville, Alabama on March 6, 1919.  He was the son of the late Claud Lee Browning and the late Rilla Garner Browning.  Mr. Browning was self employed in the agribusiness field and served for 58 years on the Board of Directors of Carroll EMC.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iota Carroll Browning; two sisters, Lois Browning and Bernice Browning Carroll; and one brother, Cleave Browning.

Survivors include three sisters, Carmon Parks, Mildred Shepard of Rockmart and Eloweese Butler of Rockmart; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Nell Browning of Temple; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Danny Hutcheson and Rev. Carl Ratliff officiating.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Rick Carroll, J.W. Spiva, J.T. Winters, Steve Golden, Doug Rogers and Max Goldin.  Serving honorary pallbearers will be the Board of Directors of Carroll EMC and Dennis Parks.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
