Mr. Joseph Franklin "Sonny" Ayers, age 60, of Bay Minette, Alabama formerly of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007. Mr. Ayers was born in Floyd County on January 17, 1947. He was the son of the late Freeman Ayers and the late Lois Posey Ayers. Mr. Ayers was veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include one son, Jody Ayers of Chatsworth; one sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Allen Williams of Buchanan; one brother, Stephen B. Ayers of Bremen; and a number of other relatives. Memorial Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. from the Buchanan Cemetery with Dr. Thomas Ward officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Haralson County Veterans Association. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
