Mr. Jon Chris Payton, age 58 of Buchanan, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022, in a local hospital.  He was born in Carrollton, GA, on August 19, 1963, to the late Larry and Carolyn Word  Payton.  In addition to his parents, Chris is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Clay Payton.  Having a passion for music, Chris enjoyed playing the guitar.  He also loved riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends

Survivors include his daughter, Jessica (Jody McCarty) Payton of Winston; his son, Blake Payton of Carrollton; sisters, Melody Parks of Buchanan, and Victoria (Ethan) Hutson of NC; and his precious grandchildren, Gabriel Lane, Lily Baxter, Christian Payton, and Isaac McCarty.

In accordance with his wishes, Chris will be cremated, and plans for a celebration of his life will planned for a later date.
