Mr. John Wayne Shepperd, age 75, of Buchanan passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia on Sunday, February 21, 1943. Mr. Shepperd is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Nichols) Shepperd and one son, Gary Wayne Shepperd.

Survivors include his wife, Alona Lee (Blankenship) Shepperd of Buchanan; his son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Noel Shepperd of Buchanan; his brother, Billy Shepperd of Bristol, Tennessee; his granddaughter, Rachel Shepperd of Buchanan and a number of other relatives.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2P.M. at Mount Zion East Baptist Church, Buchanan.

Mr. Shepperd will lie in state at the church from 12 noon until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow in the Mount Zion East Baptist Church Cemetery.
