John David McClain, age 68 of Villa Rica, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024, after a brief illness.  Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the son of the late Clemmie Lee McClain and the late Mary Etheline Henry McClain.  In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia McClain; his son, Michael McClain; his twin daughters, Lacey & Lori McClain; and his brother Robert McClain.

David was a truly simple Southern gentleman.  He worked for 50 years as an appliance repair technician.  In his earlier years, David earned a 2nd degree Black Belt in karate.  In his later years, he enjoyed watching old tv shows and church services.  David was a devoted member of Pray's Mill Baptist Church and attended regularly before his illness. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memories are his children:  Elizabeth Ann (Anthony) Laney of Villa Rica, and Jason (Britta) McClain of Rockmart; his brother, Danny McClain of Palmetto; and his precious grandchildren: Greyson McClain, Ellie McClain, Lydia Laney, Elias Laney, and Alyssa Matznick.

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
