John W. Kirby, Sr., age 69, of Temple passed away Monday, October 8, 2012. Mr. Kirby was born in Tennessee on August 1, 1943. He was the son of the late Alvin Dedrick Kirby and the late Nina Grant Attwood.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Keith Kirby and by three brothers, Roland, Charles, and David Kirby.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kirby of Temple; two daughters, Cynthia Lee Kirby of Winber, PA and Denise Hendrix of Houston, TX; two sons Kevin Kirby of Gettysburg, PA and John Kirby, Jr. of Temple, GA; seven brothers Jerry Kirby of Springtown, TX and Blaine, Clyde, Alvin, Sherman, Calvin, and Wayne Kirby of Pennsylvania; five sisters, Alpharetta Smith of Knoxville, TN and Kathy, Elaine, Debbie, and Linda of Pennsylvania; Stepmother Katherine (Kirby)Tomaszewski of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jeff Byrd and Rev. Larry Argo officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
