IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Floyd
Bullock
September 10, 1941 – December 2, 2025
John Floyd Bullock, Sr, age 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on September 10, 1941, he was the son of the late George W. Bullock and the late Teresa Rose Hurst Bullock. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Bullock who passed in 2019, and his brother David Bullock.
A true American patriot, John enlisted in the United States Army on his 17th birthday. He spent almost 2 years overseas, mostly in France. Returning home, John worked in Mobile, Alabama, as a shipbuilder. When that job ended, John moved his family to Tallapoosa where he worked and retired as a truck driver for Associated Rubber. In his leisure time, he enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. An avid football fan, John supported the LSU Tigers and was sometimes a closet Alabama Crimson Tide fan.
John's survivors include his sons, Van E. Bullock of Borger, TX, John F. Bullock, Jr, of Carrollton, and Steven & Candida Bullock of Tallapoosa; his daughter, Donna Preston of Mobile, Alabama; and a brother and sister-in-law, William & Louise Bullock of St. Louis, Missouri. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In keeping with Mr. Bullock's wishes, he will be cremated.
Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is honored to serve the cremation needs of the Bullock family.
