Jo Carol Knight Brooks, age 87 of Mableton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.  Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Sid William Knight and the late Launa King Knight.  In addition to her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Elmer Brooks.

Jo enjoyed nature, whether she was gardening or spending time outside walking.  A gregarious person, she enjoyed socializing with neighbors and friends.  In her quiet time, Jo enjoyed listening to gospel music.

Her family and friends remember her for her unwavering kindness, gentle spirit, and the wisdom she shared with all who knew her.  She touched countless lives with her generosity and warmth, creating a legacy through the love she gave and the memories she created.

Left to cherish her memories are her children: Karen (Chuck) Tinsley of Macon, Beverly Brooks of Pensacola, Florida, Jody (Brad) Hennesy of Waco, Walter (Tammy) Brooks of Powder Springs and Sam Brooks of Deepstep, Georgia.

Her precious grandchildren: Sierra Davis (Calvin Bloodworth), Max Corder (Kate), Josie Hennesy, Anna Grace Hennesy, Jonathan Paulis (Courtney), Amy Kelley, Brayley Brooks, and Brody Brooks; and her great-grandchildren: Tucker Davis, Emerson Paulis, and Millie Kate Corder.

Also surviving are many cousins and extended family members.

In keeping with her wishes, Jo Carol will be cremated.  A life celebration will be held soon.
