Mr. Jimmy Elmer West, Jr., age 60, of Bremen, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. Born on April 10, 1965, in Miami Beach, Florida, he was the cherished son of the late Jimmy Elmer West, Sr. and the late Margaret (Enyart) West. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Howard West.

A proud patriot, Mr. West honorably served in the United States Army during the Gulf War, retiring in 1996. Following his military service, he made significant contributions to Law Enforcement, serving both the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office and the West Georgia Boot Camp. Known for his generous spirit, he dedicated time mentoring students at Buchanan Elementary School, embodying the kindness and support he found so vital in his life. Jimmy had a unique ability to connect with others, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. A man of deep faith, Jimmy truly loved life. In his leisure time, he enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, and driving trucks—a skill he developed during his time in the military. He was also a proud Master Mason, beginning his masonic journey at Alleghany Lodge #114 in Florida and later affiliating with Draketown Lodge #252 F&AM. Above all, Mr. West cherished his family, taking immense pride in his children and grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as “Papa.” Brother Jimmy will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. His life remains a testament to the values of service, community, and love for family.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 34 years, Anita Sue (Greene) West of Bremen; his children, Jared Ethan West, Sr. and his wife Stephanie of Bremen, and Katie Webb and her husband Adam of Temple; his sister, Tina West of Temple; his brother, Arthur West of Panama City, Florida; as well as his precious grandchildren, Carson Dennis, Kennedy West, Jared Ethan West, Jr., Kinsley West, and Ella West. Known as “Uncle Buddha,” he will also be fondly remembered by his dear nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives.
