Mr. Jimmie Lee Spires, age 63, of Buchanan formerly of Hoboken, Georgia passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013. Mr. Spires was born in Coffee County, Georgia on February 7, 1949. He was the son of the late Pate Spires and the late Maggie Prescott Spires. Mr. Spires was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hendrick Spires of Buchanan; two sons and daughters-in-law, James Lee and Julie Spires, Sr. of Buchanan and Michael Jason and Jamie Spires of Temple; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice Faye and Jerry Smith of Villa Rica and Susie and Ken Gardell of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Perry and Linda Spires of Seattle, WA and Carl Thomas and Martha Spires of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Dylan Pittman, Brandi Pittman and Lee Spires, Jr.; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. from Draketown Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Parrack officiating. Interment will follow in Draketown Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Haralson County Veterans Association.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
