Pamela Jill Steele, age 65 of Buchanan, passed away after a brief illness Wednesday, December 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on January 14, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Curtis Rowell, Sr. and the late Jackie Ann Weaver Rowell. In addition to her parents, Jill was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Steele, Sr. and her son, Christopher John Hill.
A graduate of Sprayberry High School, Jill spent most of her life in Buchanan, Georgia. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her family. She also loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was eager to bring others to the Lord. Jill's spiritual gift was prayer and she readily shared her gift with others. Traveling to the mountains with her family was one of her favorite pastimes. Jill was talented at remodeling homes and restoring antique furniture. She also found joy in taking care of her animals on the farm. Her beautiful smile and warm personality will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and son-in-law, Jessica & Allen King of Carrollton and Georgia Steele of Lindale; her son, Bobby Hill of Buchanan; and her precious grandchildren: Grayson King, Brooklyn King, Braxlei Hill, Bristol Hill and Elsie Hill. Also surviving are her sisters and brothers-in-law, Robin & Anthony Woods of Whitesburg and Suzzette & Raymond Ward of Anchorage, Alaska; her brother, Randolph Rowell of Kennesaw; her best friend, Jamie George of Buchanan; and other extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Jill Steele will be conducted on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 2:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roy Frashier officiating. Jill will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Bremen.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 27th from Noon until 2:00 P.M.
