Mr. Jesse R. Leggett, age 80, of Villa Rica passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Mr. Leggett was born in Cullman, Alabama on July 7, 1929. He was the son of the late Noah Leggett and the late Patsy James Leggett. Mr. Leggett was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He fought at the battles of Pork Chop Hill and Heart Break Ridge. Mr. Leggett was a decorated war veteran. He was awarded the Combat Medical Badge; Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Battle Stars; United Nations Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Two Over Seas Bars; Silver Star; Bronze Star with Valor and Cluster and the Purple Heart. Mr. Leggett retired from General Motors with 37 years service. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jeremy Fuller. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty Hardy Leggett; one daughter, Vickie Manning of Villa Rica; two sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent and Dana Leggett of Dallas and David and Carlotta Leggett of Dallas; grandchildren; Jason Fuller, Ashleigh Manning and Canaan Leggett; great grandchild, Faith Fuller and a number of other relatives. Private services will be conducted at a later date. The body was cremated. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
