Jerry Wayne Brown

Jerry Wayne Brown, age 72 of Waco, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Born in Tallapoosa, he was the son of the late George Edward "Buck" Brown and the late Rachel Elizabeth Wright Brown.  In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Elizabeth Brown.

Wayne worked for over 17 years with the Haralson County Sheriff's Office. He later was employed by Vulcan Materials. Before his health declined, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and four wheelers.  Working in his yard had also been a favorite pastime.  In later years, Wayne spent many enjoyable hours watching television with home improvement shows being his favorite to watch.  

Wayne is survived by his devoted wife, Diwanda Hobbs Brown and his precious son, Jarrod Wayne Brown; his sister Patricia Brown Wright; and his brother and sister-in-law, Michael & Dawn Brown, all of Waco,  Also surviving are his niece, Vonda Fennell, his nephew, Darrell Wright, and other extended family members.

Visitation for Wayne Brown will be conducted on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A private interment will follow at Waco Baptist Church Cemetery.
