Jeffery Bill Thornton

Jeffery Bill Thornton, age 58 of Waco, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026, in a local hospital.  Born in Carrollton, Georgia, he was the son of Leva McIntosh Thornton and the late Herschel Thornton.  

Bill spent more than 20 years in long haul trucking and was retired from Jackson Trucking.  He enjoyed being on the open road and being outdoors.  He could be found most days mowing the lawn which he kept pristine.  Bill also loved the water, whether he was fishing or boating.  Saturdays were game days watching his beloved Georgia Bulldogs, and Sundays were spent watching NASCAR races.  Bill was an all-around good guy who loved his family, and he will be dearly missed by them and his friends.

Bill's survivors include his mother, Leva Thornton; his sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie & Joey Austin; and his brothers and sister-in-law, Ricky & Wendy Thornton and Tracy Thornton.  Also surviving are his nephews, Johnathan (Amy) Austin and Patrick (Miriam) Thornton; his nieces, Amber (Ayush) Prakash and Devin Thornton; and other extended family and friends.

The family will host a celebration of life for Bill on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
