Jason Thomas Acklin, age 44 of Mableton, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, in a local hospital.  Born in Salina, Kansas, he is the son of R. Thomas Acklin and Brenda Diane Banks Acklin. Jason is preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Acklin, who passed away May 27, 2024.

Working as a truck driver, Jason spent many hours on the road.  He enjoyed listening to heavy metal rock & roll and working on cars and trucks.  Being a Chevy man, Jason had an affinity for S-10 Chevy trucks.  He was a movie buff and knew lots of movie trivia.  His passion, though, was spending time with his children and grandchild.

Left to cherish Jason's memories are his parents, Tom and Brenda Acklin; his fiance', Sarah Florence of Griffin; his children, Trinity Acklin of Hiram, Jason Acklin, II, of Griffin, Madilyn Acklin and Madison Acklin both of Whitesburg, and Isabella Acklin of Griffin; and his grandson, Brantley Cantrell. Also surviving are Cheyenne Dodd of Whitesburg and Dakota Dodd of Douglasville, whom he treated as his own children; his grandmother Cella Banks of Douglasville, his uncle, Jeffrey Banks of Mableton; his aunt, Yvonne Goodwin of Salina Kansas; and other family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends of Jason Acklin will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel in Buchanan.  Following the visitation, he will be cremated.
