Jan Cain, age 70 of Carrollton, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, in a local hospital.  Born on March 6, 1954, in Carrollton, she was the daughter of the late Julius F. and Mary Alice Cain.

A 1972 graduate of Bremen High School, Jan continued her education at West Georgia College where she obtained her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Education  As a middle grades teacher, she began her career at West Haralson Elementary School and then she spent many years at Bremen Middle School.  After retirement, she enjoyed teaching English to the Japanese employees at Honda Lock.  Jan also enjoyed meeting with her friends in her book club.  Disney was Jan's favorite place to visit, and of course, she loved her animals.  But her family was her pride and joy, especially her niece and nephew and their families.

Her survivors include her sister, Julie (Craig) Newman of Bremen; nephew, Jonathon (Christi) Newman; niece, Haley (Chris) Covalli, and great niece and nephews: Jocelyn Covalli, Dean Covalli, Jude Covalli, and Evan Newman.

A celebration of Jan's life will be conducted at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, August 5, 2024, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Duane McManus and Rev. Hunter Roe officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local animal shelter as animals were very close to Jan's heart.
