Obituary

James William Perry, age 90 of Bremen, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on June 13, 2023. He was born on September 27, 1932, in Norfork, AR, to the late Leasel T. Perry and the late Goldie Hodge Perry. In addition to his parents, J.W. is preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Ellis.

Serving proudly in the Unites States Army from 1953 - 1955, JW received the National Defense Medal.  In his early years, he enjoyed hunting.  J.W. retired from the Hoover Hanes Plant where he worked in  management.  Golfing and woodworking were two of his favorite leisure hobbies.   J.W.  was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Lord was always first in his life.  He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Freida Douglas Perry; his daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Perry Manley and Ronnie of Texas, Janis Perry Turner and Steve of North Carolina and Toni Perry Kinter and Art of PA; his son and daughter-in-law, James Michael Perry and Tonda of North Carolina; his sisters, Nadine Moser of Texas and Kay Rogers of Texas; his brothers, Doyle Perry, Gene Perry, Roy Perry and Johnny Perry all of Texas; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for J.W. Perry will be conducted on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 3:00 PM from Bethel Baptist Church with Brother Ron Carroll officiating. Music will be provided by Kevin McBrayer, Amanda Witcher, David Caldwell, and Marybeth Goyer.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Bobby Monroe, John Crow, Vaughn Gable, Bobby Brannon, Donald Carroll, and Michael Parrish.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 17th,  at the church from 2:00 PM until the service hour.
