James Edward Stephenson, age 86 of Bremen, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of the late Esther Anderson. In addition to his mother, Jim is preceded in death by his wife Mary Hand Stephenson; a daughter, Debrah Stephenson; a son, Larry Stephenson; a sister Norma Cadwalder; and a grandson, Matthew.

Jim grew up in Miami and there met the love of his life, Mary. From 1957 - 1961, he proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Randolph. Upon moving to Georgia, he worked in Research & Development with the Southwire Company retiring after many years. Never idle, he continued working part-time for Wal-Mart. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and camping. Always a jokester, Jim enjoyed telling jokes and making people laugh. Many times you could find him dancing with his precious wife. After her death, he enjoyed taking care of his cats and spending time with his family. James Stephenson will always be remembered for his work ethic and love of his family.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Cheri (Martin) McDaniel and Denise Stephenson; his son, Mike Stephenson; his precious grandchildren: Jessica, Bubba, Kayla, Kevin, Joey, Heaven, and Leann; and many great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Mr. Stephenson's wishes, he will be cremated. The family is planning a celebration of his life to be announced at a later date.
