Mr. James Russell "Rusty" Smith, age 56, of Carrollton passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012. Mr. Smith was born in Douglasville on February 25, 1956. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a machinist with Clutch Exchange Company.

Survivors include his wife, Marcie Redding Smith of Carrollton; one daughter, Stefanie Smith of Carrollton; mother, Pat Hefner of Buchanan; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Susan and Larry Reece of Muscadine, AL, Jill Parrish of Bremen and Jaime and Randy Tison of Holly Hill, FL; one brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Shelly Hefner of Tallapoosa; two grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery of Powder Springs, Georgia with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Dwayne Crowder, Jr., Dwayne Crowder, Sr., Rusty Crowder, Larry Reece, Kyle Reece and Jay Hefner.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 P.M.
until 9:00 P.M.
