Mr. James Perry Rice, age 53, of 3347 Hwy. 120, Tallapoosa passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010. Mr. Rice was born in Floyd County on July 19, 1956. He was the son of the late Clifford Rice and the Doris Padgett Rice of Buchanan. Mr. Rice was a carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Lori Rice of Tallapoosa; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Scott Vaughn of Tallapoosa; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brett and Malena Rice of Villa Rica and Caleb Rice of Tallapoosa; mother, Doris Padgett Rice of Buchanan; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Judy Brown of Gainesville, Hope and Mark Swann of Bremen and Virginia and Alan Shaw of Bremen; one brother, Wayne Rice of Rome; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ricky Shirley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The remains will be cremated following the visitation. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
