James F. Mackey, age 46 of Buchanan, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024.  Born in Fairfax, Virginia, he was the son of Debra Bedwell Mackey and the late James Wesley Mackey.

An avid outdoorsman, Jamie enjoyed camping, hiking, and kayaking.  Always a thrill seeker, he also enjoyed skydiving.  However, Jamie's passion was being a great dad and family man.

Left to cherish his memories are his companion of 20 years, Melissa Stevens; his children, Riley Mackey, Jace Stevens, and Quinn Mackey all of Buchanan; his mother Debra Mackey of Bremen; his sister, Brandy (Tim) McAdams of Bremen; and his brothers, Bryan (Maddie) Mackey of Rockmart, Kevin Mackey of Pennsylvania, and Mark (Holly) Mackey of Ohio.  Also surviving are his niece, Baylie Carter, and nephew, Lucas Harbuck, as well as other family and friends.

The celebration of life for Jamie Mackie will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel.  The family will receive friends from Noon until the service hour.
