Obituary

Mr. James Reid Jackson, age 86, of Bremen passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012. Mr. Jackson was born in Coffee County, Georgia on October 20, 1926. He was the son of the late H.T. and Marie Alice Reid Jackson, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Lockheed Aircraft where he worked as an inspector. James was a member of Waco Baptist Church and a 53 year member of the Bremen Masonic Lodge. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Smith Jackson; two sisters, Lucille Murray and Merle Whiddon; two brothers, H.T. Jackson and Eddie Jackson; and one grandchild, Jimmy Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Wright Jackson of Ocilla and Bremen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Lorine Jackson of Woodbury and Wayne and Gaye Jackson of Waco; one step-daughter, Wanda Bryant of Ocilla; two step-sons and their wives, Tony and Marty Hayes of Brunswick and Steve and Sue Hayes of Baxley; two grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many other relatives.

Funeral services for James will be conducted Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Waco Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Webb, Rev. Ed McIntyre, Rev. Jon Smith and Rev. Ricky Shadrix officiating. Music will be rendered by Bobby Robinson, Peggy Shepherd and Tyler Crew. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Haralson County Veterans Association and Masonic graveside rites. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Brandon Bates, Doug Ralston, Brian Bates, Cain Jackson, Chase Jackson, Robert Smith and Gage Jackson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
