Mr. James Maurice Heckler, age 78, of 186 Mount Zion East Rd., Buchanan passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009. He was born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania on March 6, 1931. He was the son of the late James Heckler and the late Ellen Miller Heckler. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rose Maloney Heckler and one child, James M. Heckler, Jr. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Clifford Brown of Buchanan and Judy and Roger Redinger of Centerville, IN; four sons and daughters-in-law, John and Laura Heckler of Abita Springs, LA, Jeff and Pam Heckler of Beech Grove, IN, Joe and Tina Heckler of Dacula and Jerry and Jama Heckler of Lithia Springs; one sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Ed Hubbs of Savannah; sixteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. There will be a gathering for family and friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. The body was cremated. Interment services in Freeland, PA will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: MMI Prep School, 154 Centre St., Freeland, PA 18224; Elks Club, 635 East.
