James Harrison Smith, age 58 of Carrollton, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in a local hospital.  Born on February 25, 1967, he was the son of the late Brenda Agan Smith Vollrath and the late James Robert Smith.

James was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed woodworking.  He also enjoyed fishing and grilling out with his family.  His favorite place to visit each weekend was the "Flea Market."

Survivors include his daughter, Karis Smith of  Austell; his sister, Katherine Mitchell of Douglasville; his brothers, Donald Smith, Matt Smith, and Joseph Smith, all of Carrollton, Tracy Vollrath of Waco, and Cody Vollrath of Sandy Springs.  Also surviving are his step-father, Alton Vollrath, the mother of his child, Sandy Hutcheson, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, James will be cremated.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
