Mr. James Marion Dempsey, age 83, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Mr. Dempsey was born in Cabell County, West Virginia on January 30, 1924. He was the son of the late Jesse James Dempsey and the late Louella Carver Dempsey. Mr. Dempsey was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired cook. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arletta Blake Dempsey. Survivors include two daughters, Jessica Dillion of Barbersville, WV and Johanna Dempsey of Huntington, WV; three sons, Jeffery Dempsey of Uniontown, PA, John Dempsey of Huntington, WV and James M. Dempsey of Villa Rica; four sisters, Jean Bentley of Huntington, WV, Clara Moore of Huntington, WV, Emily Sharp of Huntington, WV and Mary Carter of Temple; seven grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. The body was cremated. No services are planned. Private interment will follow at a later date. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
