Mr. Jackie Odell Holcombe, age 60, of 13593 County Rd. 55, Fruithurst, AL passed away Saturday, August 1, 2009. Mr. Holcombe was born in Cleburne County on November 20, 1948. He was the son of the late Arlin Clell Holcombe and Jeanette Owen Daniel of Fruithurst, AL. Mr. Holcombe was a veteran of the United States Army and was a truck driver. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Milby Holcombe. Survivors besides his mother include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya and Chris Hammond of Anniston, AL and Rhonda and Greg Bowling of Tallapoosa, GA; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Lisa Holcombe of Heflin, AL; one step daughter and step son-in-law, Kimberly and Roy Taylor of Leesburg, AL; one step son and step daughter-in-law, Richard, Jr. and Paula Hunter of Heflin, AL; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Becky and Tim Robinson of Tallapoosa, GA and Kaye Price of Fruithurst, AL; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Roland and Jan Holcombe of Muscadine, AL, Glenn and Joanie Holcombe of Fruithurst, AL, Rockie and Dorothy Daniel of Heflin, AL and Darrell Daniel of Fruithurst, AL; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 3, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. (AL Time) from Mount Olive Church of God with Rev. James Owens and Rev. David Ginn officiating. Music will be rendered by Angie Gentry accompanied by Erica Daniel. Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Church of God Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Steve Ingram, Matt Owens, Roland Holcombe, Glenn Holcombe, Rockie Daniel, Darrell Daniel, Greg Bowling and Vic McElroy. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
