Jackie Steve Chandler

Jackie Steve Chandler, age 70 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. Born in Carrollton on February 8, 1956, he was the son of the late Wilburn Jack Chandler and the late Elsie Louellen Jiles Davis.

An avid outdoorsman, Steve found great joy and solace in being out in nature. He was known for his dedication to working tirelessly in his yard, cultivating a space that reflected his passion and care. Many who knew him recall the peaceful images of Steve sitting around the fire, sharing stories or quiet moments. Fishing was another pastime he treasured as well watching sports, especially football. Though Steve Chandler has left this world, his memory endures in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. 

Left to cherish his memories are his significant other and life partner, Patty Jiles; his son, Jody Chandler; his sisters, Shirley (Jerry) Hansen and and Judy (Winton) Akers; his brother Phillip Chandler; and several grandchildren. Also surviving are his bonus daughter Nikki (Ron) Adair; his bonus son, Heath Jiles; and his bonus grandchildren, Lila Adair and Chevy Jiles.

In accordance with his wishes, Steve was cremated.
