Mr. Jack J. Hill, age 93, of Athens passed away Friday, August 26, 2016.  Mr. Hill was born in Porterdale, Georgia on August 31, 1922. He was the son of the late Callaway Hill and the late Flossie Coble Hill.  Mr. Hill was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II.  He fought in battles at Normandy, Northern France and Germany.  Mr. Hill was highly decorated receiving the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Ribbon, American Defense Service Ribbon and Distinguished Unit Badge.  After his military service he went to work as a machinist for the rest of his working life.

Survivors include nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charles Timms and Mr. Jimmy Pope officiating.  Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Felton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.
