Mr. J.W. Brown, age 92, of Buchanan, passed away peacefully Friday, April 23, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Haralson County on July 1, 1928, to the late Jessie Hazelwood Brown and Joseph Franklin Brown.  J.W. retired after almost 40 years of employment at Goodyear Manufacturing Company in Rockmart  He loved his family dearly, was a hard worker, and loved singing and country music.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Hattie Belle Worthy Brown of Buchanan; his daughter and son-in-law; Wanda and Bennie Westmoreland of Buchanan; grandchildren; Jay and Krissy Westmoreland and Wendy and Mark Henry; a sister, Pauline Brown of Buchanan.  He is also survived by his precious great-grandchildren, Caleb Westmoreland, Emily Henry, Hannah Folds, and Andrew Henry; and great, great-grandchildren, Makiah Henry and Elizabeth Folds.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.

The family will also receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 25, 2021 from 12 noon until 1:30 P.M.

Funeral services for Mr. J.W. Brown will be conducted Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 2 P.M. at Tallapoosa East Baptist Church with Pastor Bennie Westmoreland officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Dr. Mason Bush officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jay Westmoreland, Mark Henry, Drew Henry, Scott Worthy, Bobby Bright, and Marty Jones.
