Mrs. Irene Mize Smith, age 92, of Buchanan passed away Monday, January 29, 2018.  Mrs. Smith was born in Haralson County, Georgia, on October 13, 1925.  She was the daughter of the late Lester Mize and the late Bertha Mann Mize.  Mrs. Smith was retired from the Haralson County Department of Family and Children's Service and then worked in the Haralson County Clerk of Superior Court office.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Louie Allen; second husband, Jim Frank Smith; and two brothers, Harold Mize and Clifford Mize.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Tommy Stanley of Walla Walla, WA; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Carolyn Allen of Tallapoosa; one sister, Reba Carroll of Bremen; four grandchildren, Justin Allen, Amanda Browning, Tommi Kuklish and Allen Stanley; five great grandchildren, Katie Allen, Owen Browning, Connor Browning, Ben Kuklish and Megan Kuklish; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from Edwards Cemetery with Danny Hutcheson officiating.
