Hugh Doyce "Dorsey" Hulsey, age 72, of Buchanan, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at a local hospital.

Mr. Hulsey was born in Haralson County, Georgia on May 15, 1943, son of the late Lumas Hulsey and Ida Mae Folsom Hulsey.  He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Grant Elijah Hutcheson, by a sister Maurine Hulsey, and by four brothers, Wilburn Hulsey, Winfred Hulsey, Calvin Hulsey, and Leroy Hulsey.  Mr. Hulsey worked for a number of years for Cedartown Paperboard. He was a faithful member of Dugdown Baptist Church for 48 years where he served as a Deacon.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joyce Carnes Hulsey; a daughter, Laura Hulsey Hutcheson and her husband, Jamie, Silver Creek; a granddaughter, Gracie Abigail Hutcheson; a sister, Lizzie Mae Vines, Buchanan; a brother, Alton Hulsey and his wife, Mary Lee, Cedartown; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016, at 2pm at Dugdown Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Brannon and the Rev. Frank Parris officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Jason Hudgens officiating.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday from 6 until 8pm.  At other hours, they will be at their respective residences.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church on Friday at 1:30pm and include:  Active:  Freddie Hulsey, Chris Vines, Neil Hogg, Bo Cook, Max Cook, Keith Brown, Brandon Garner, and Ricky Peyton.  Honorary:  Men of Dugdown Baptist Church.
