Mr. Hoyt Woody, age 88, of Buchanan passed away Thursday, May 10, 20112. Mr. Woody was born in Draketown, Georgia on April 18, 1924. He was the son of the late John Henry Woody and Julie May Tanner. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Arp and Ruby Whitaker; and two brothers, Robert Woody and J.W. Woody.

Survivors include his; three daughters and two son-in-laws, Sara Cantrell of Buchanan, Mary Ruth (Eulis) McEreath of Bremen and Nancy (Danny) Williams of Bremen; two sisters, Eloise Alexander of Villa Rica and Louise Woody; four brothers, Clifford Woody of Alabama, Bobby Woody of Cedartown, Herman Woody of Cedartown and Larry Woody also of Cedartown; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. from Gospel Time in Draketown, Georgia with Bro. Ryan Williams, Rev. Gary Farlow and Rev. Brad Walker officiating. The interment will follow in Tallapoosa East Baptist Church Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers Kevin Williams, Jonathan Cantrell, Josh Duff, Matt Smith, Steven Gilbert and Eulis McElreath.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
