Howard Cleo Price

Howard Cleo Price, age 77 of Temple, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in a local hospital.  Born in Carrollton, Georgia, on December 8, 1948, he was the son of the late Gordon Lee Price and the late Margaret Price.  In addition to his parents, Howard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Price, sister, Rosa Parmentier, and his brother, Walter Price.

A country boy at heart, Howard grew up playing cards with the family, hunting, and fishing.  A 1966 graduate of Buchanan High School, he married the love of his life, Janice, on November 18, 1966.  Howard then began his career at Ford Motor Company and retired after 35 years in the paint shop.  After retirement, Howard continued to spend time fishing and playing golf.  Traveling was a favorite pastime, and he and Janice enjoyed going on cruises together.  One of Howard's most memorable cruises was to Alaska with his brother, Walter.  An excellent provider and protector for his family, he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.  His beautiful smile and sparkling blue eyes will be missed by all knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Scott and Alice Price of Bremen and Tammi and Kelly Smith of Temple; his precious grandchildren: Danielle Smith, Kelsey & Clifford Brown, Thomas Price, and John Davis; and his great-grandchildren: Clifford Brown, III, Caleb Brown, Paisley Prichard. Also surviving are his sister Mary Clay of Temple; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as many extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Howard Price will be conducted on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 4:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Richard Brannon and Sister Mary Clay officiating.  Howard will be laid to rest next to Janice at Draketown Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
