Mr. Herschel Hueston McAlpin, age 69, of 1260 Jacksonville Rd., Tallapoosa passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Mr. McAlpin was born in Cleburne County, Alabama on August 26, 1941. He was the son of the late Clyde McAlpin and the late Vena Hutcheson McAlpin. Mr. McAlpin was retired from the City of Tallapoosa Maintenance Department. Survivors include his wife, Lisa Padgett McAlpin of Tallapoosa; three daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Rusty Holcombe of Buchanan, Dalene and Allen Robinson of Tallapoosa and Michelle and Andrew Baker of Tallapoosa; two sons, David McAlpin of Ellijay and Adam McAlpin of Tallapoosa; two sisters, Eddie Jean Wilson of Tallapoosa and Faye Bell of Tallapoosa; one brother, Garland McAlpin of Helflin, AL; one step-sister, Faye Daniel of Austell; nine grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date. The body was cremated. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
